MEET JOE GATTING

I MAY SEE FIVE THINGS.
THAT DOESN'T MEAN I SHOULD COACH FIVE THINGS.

Former professional cricketer. Specialist performance coach.

Having played professional cricket for Sussex and Hampshire, I've experienced the demands of the game firsthand. Today, I work with players from club cricket through to international level, helping them better understand their game and what matters most to their development.

My approach isn't about changing everything I see. It's about identifying what needs attention, understanding what should be protected and giving each player a clear direction forward.

FROM PLAYER TO COACH

PLAYING TAUGHT ME THE GAME.
COACHING CHANGED HOW I SEE IT.

Playing professionally for Sussex and Hampshire taught me what the game demands as the level gets higher. It also showed me how differently successful players can approach the same challenges.

Coaching has reinforced that understanding. Two players can face exactly the same problem but need completely different solutions. What helps one player might actually limit another.

Today, I look beyond how a technique appears. I want to understand how a player moves, processes information, makes decisions and responds when the game challenges them.

For me, good coaching isn't measured by how much information I give or how many changes I make. It's about understanding what will genuinely help that player improve, both now and as the demands of the game increase.

THE PLAYERS. THE EXPERIENCE.

EXPERIENCE ACROSS THE GAME.
FROM CLUB CRICKET TO THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE.

Joe's coaching experience spans developing club cricketers, county professionals and international players. Working across different levels of the game has provided valuable insight into the demands of performance and the different challenges players face.

THE JGCC COACHING TEAM

INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS.
SHARED STANDARDS.

JGCC is built around a simple principle: understand the player before deciding what to coach.

Our coaching team brings different experiences and expertise, with a shared commitment to purposeful, individual development. The aim isn't to coach every player the same way — it's to provide the right support at the right stage of their journey.

01 / DEVELOPMENT COACHES

QUALITY COACHING. INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION.

Our Development Coaches work directly with players through individual sessions and structured coaching blocks. Each brings their own cricket experience while working within the JGCC approach to player development.

The focus is on building relationships, understanding the player's needs and helping them make meaningful progress.

02 / HEAD COACH INVOLVEMENT

WORK DIRECTLY WITH JOE

For players seeking a specialist assessment or ongoing coaching directly with Joe, our Head Coach services provide access to his individual approach to performance.

Head Coach Direction can also be added to eligible Development Coach blocks, providing additional input into the player's development priorities.

The right coaching isn't always about choosing the most senior coach. It's about finding the right environment for the individual.

YOUR NEXT STEP

YOUR GAME HAS A STORY.
LET'S UNDERSTAND IT.

The right coaching starts with understanding the player.

Whether you're looking to work directly with Joe, explore Development Coaching or simply understand which JGCC service is right for you, we'd love to hear about your game and what you're looking to achieve.
